The wet Machacca Burrito is a bargain and very tasty.

Pho-na 92 | Google Reviews: 4.4 | Price: $ I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, so can get a little jaded when it comes to Pho, which is hard to find in the Coachella Valley. But I really like this little pho house in DHS – A good place to stop if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

The Cottage Too Restaurant | Google Reviews: 4.4 Stars | Price: $ Quirky, small diner located within a nondescript storefront with bars on the windows. But once inside it’s cozy and a working persons/locals place. Very basic menu featuring eggs, biscuits and gravy, sandwiches, burgers etc. Desert Crest Coffee Shop Google Reviews: 4.6 Stars | Price: $ As one reviewer on Yelp stated in not an entirely negative way “The local greasy spoon for the trailer park located behind the cafe”. Portions are large and they have either 5 or 1-star reviews on Yelp. The ambiance is nothing to write home about but people and service are warm and friendly.
Kam Lun | Google Reviews: 4.5 | Price: $ Your Great Grandmothers Chinese. Can be hit or miss, but sometimes pretty good (the parking lot is always full) so if you are in the mood, give it a shot as it’s not very expensive and is close to the Hotel.

The service can be spotty, but all in all not a bad experience for an inexpensive hotel restaurant and the steaks can be great at times. Five Dollar Pizza Place | Google Reviews: 4.1 | Price: $ The Pizza is far better than Dominos or Pizza Hut and they usually deliver fast. Our favorite is the large pie with extra mushrooms, red onions and extra cheese. Rocky's New York Pizza | Google Reviews: 4.0 | Price: $ Food and service have been consistently good here. Pizza, lasagna, and subs ordered have all been delicious.

Might I add the original owner bought the restaurant back and from what I understand that's the best thing that could've happened! Full disclosure – we are foodies and the local dining options in Desert Hot Springs can be challenging at times both in terms of menu options and hours of operation. If you are looking for true fine dining we recommend making the 20 minute drive (or Uber) to Palm Springs as there are dozens of world class restaurants and even the most jaded world traveller is sure to find a new favorite. We also have a full kitchen on site that overnight guests can use as well as gas grills for those that want to prepare a special meal for your partner and perhaps even new friends.
